Thank you to Tim Cousounis and Jim Cousounis of the Doc Cousounis Memorial Fund

Thank you to Tim Cousounis and Jim Cousounis of the Doc Cousounis Memorial Fund for their generous donations and unwavering support for Roxborough United Soccer Club. Doc promoted the ideals of generosity, character, community spirit, and personal achievement to several generations of Roxborough young men and women. We are proud to follow in the footsteps of the late great Gerry “Doc” Cousounis and to help kids in the neighborhood grow as both players and as people.

A brief soccer history of Gerry T. Cousounis aka Doc: Doc played 4 Years at Temple University, helping the team win the National Championship in 1951.. 40 Years at Roxborough High School as Assistant Coach and Mentor helping the team to 11 Divisional Titles, Public League Championships, and a City Championship.. in 1963 he founded the Roxborough YMCA Soccer Club and organized where he presided and coaches for more than 20 years. The program founded one of the very first indoor soccer programs in Philadelphia.. The Roxborough YMCA Soccer Club would go on to become Roxborough Indians Soccer Club which would go on to become Roxborough United Soccer Club.
